DOWNTOWN AKRON — Two Akron artists and one Medina artist are prize winners in Summit Artspace Gallery’s second annual juried exhibition, FRESH Art. The show, which presents 25 works in painting, photography, cut paper, glass, ceramics, metal and mixed media, will be on display until May 6. Show sponsor Malone Advertising awarded $1,750 in top prizes. Akron’s Matthew Kolodziej won the top prize of $1,000 for his large oil and acrylic abstract painting on canvas titled “Osogenesis.” Akron professional photographer Andrew McAllister won $500 for his black-and-white “Portrait of D. Turner.” The $250 third prize was awarded to Medina’s Lorri Ott for her mixed media wall sculpture, “Split II.” Summit Artspace is located at 140 E. Market St. Hours are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m. On April 7, ArtCetera will host a First Friday event in the gallery from 5 to 7 p.m. The event, which provides networking opportunities for people ages 25 to 40, costs $10 and includes cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and music.
