WEST AKRON — Fannie Brown, executive director of Coming Together Akron (CTA), was recognized with a Certificate of Accomplishment by Akron City Council at a special program March 1 to celebrate Black History Month and Women’s History Month. Brown was acknowledged for her contributions to the city through CTA, a community-based organization promoting racial harmony and cultural diversity. She assumed her current duties as executive director of CTA in 1997. Brown is a graduate of Malone College and received a master’s degree and a doctorate in education from The University of Akron.
