DOWNTOWN AKRON — The Center for Nonprofit Excellence, in conjunction with the Akron/Canton Chapter of the American Marketing Association, will offer “Marketing 101” April 6 from 8 a.m. to noon at United Disability Services, 701 S. Main St. The class is part of the larger Marketing Education Series, where not-for-profit businesses can learn how to maximize exposure no matter what their budget. The series will instruct on the three critical areas of marketing for the not-for-profit sector: the basics, the research element and e-marketing. DOWNTOWN AKRON — Frank Sullivan, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of RPM International, will be the featured presenter for the 2006 Donald L. Kaufman Business Speaker Series at The University of Akron (UA) April 12. Sullivan’s presentation will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in UA’s Student Union Ballroom. The lecture is free and open to the public. The Kaufman Speaker Series, now in its third year, was founded by UA’s College of Business Administration through a gift from Kaufman, retired president and CEO of Alside Inc. Sullivan is the grandson and namesake of RPM’s founder. RPM International, based in Medina, is a holding company with subsidiaries that are leaders in specialty coatings and sealants for industrial and consumer markets, according to company officials. The company’s products include the brands Rust-Oleum, Zinsser, DAP and Bondo.
