Doolittle & Burroughs, LLP has elected Stephen
Hammersmith to the firm’s
Board of Managers. Hammersmith is a shareholder of the
firm’s Akron office and a member of the Business
Law Practice Group. His
practice focuses on the areas of finance and municipal
law, commercial and corporate transactions and nonprofit
entity law.
• AKRON — On March 14, the Akron area unit of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) recognized achievement in various categories at its annual awards banquet. Lesley Anderson, BSW, was named Social Worker of the Year. Other awards were given to: Priscilla Ruth Smith, PhD, LCSW, Lifetime Award; Akron City Councilwoman Reneé Greene (D-Ward 4), Public Official of the Year; Jean Questel, Public Citizen of the Year; Carla Chapman Sibley, Special Award; Alma Linda Thomas, BA, LSW, MSW, Student Award; and Katherine Riefler, BSW Student Award. The NASW’s monthly business and workshop meetings take place the third Wednesday of each month at 8:30 a.m. at the Greenleaf Family Center, 212 E. Exchange St. March is Social Work Month.
