Copley, Highland, Revere runners compete in Super
Duals

Copley High School’s Kelly
Casanova places first in girls meet
GREEN — The Green High School
cross country teams hosted the Suburban League Super
Duals at Boettler and Southgate parks Sept. 9, so it
almost seemed appropriate that one of them should take
home the league’s top prize.
Paced by junior Gus Dudek, the only runner to finish the boys’ meet in less than 17 minutes, the Bulldogs came out on top with a total time of 1 hour, 28 minutes and 45 seconds.
Wadsworth (1:30:11), Copley (1:30: 50), Highland (1:32:42) and Tallmadge (1:35:43) high schools rounded out the top-five team performances. Highland’s John Minen (17:06), Wadsworth’s Bobby Over (17:23) and Copley’s Chris Fallon (17: 15) and Jordan Maselli (17:24) finished behind Dudek as the top five individual runners.
Copley’s Logan Ostry, shown above left, at left, narrowly finished ahead of Highland’s Daniel Lombardo. Ostry was one of five Indians runners to finish in the top 25.
The
Wadsworth girls team placed first with a time of 1:50:15.
Copley (1:51:46), Highland (1:51:47),
Revere (1:52:10) and Green (1:53:43) high schools followed
the Lady Grizzlies.
Copley’s Kelly Casanova, shown above, posted the best individual time with 21 minutes and 3 seconds. Her closest competition came from Highland’s Jillian Koehler (21:08) and Copley’s Shannon Testa (21:10).
Revere’s Andrea Houston, shown above right, finished sixth with a time of 21:37.
