GREATER AKRON — The Ohio Department of Insurance has launched a public education program to help Ohioans better understand insurance as their needs change at different life stages and to educate them about avoiding insurance fraud. The Insure U curriculum, available at www.ohioinsurance .gov, provides a basic introduction to the four major types of insurance — auto, home, life and health — as well as special insurance tips for young singles, young families, established families and empty-nesters/seniors. In addition, Ohioans are provided with tips to help recognize a potential fraudulent insurance company. Ohioans are also encouraged to call the department at (800) 686-1526 with insurance questions, to request free insurance publications and brochures or to file a complaint against an insurance agent or company.
