SUMMIT COUNTY — Summit County Fiscal Officer John Donofrio recently announced a Web page detailing information on pending levies is now available at www.co.summit.oh.us/fiscaloffice. Viewers can search out levy information that will impact them by choosing the “Pending Levies” icon on the Fiscal Office homepage, entering a name, address or parcel number and then clicking on “Search.” All pending levies that would affect taxes appear on the site. The Web page is tied directly to property record cards and is calculated on individual valuation and tax credits. The projected tax calculations take into account what the taxpayer is currently paying for a specific levy and calculate the projected changes for each individual property. Not all levies are proposed for immediate collection, and the site indicates what year the levy would be first collected. “The site will be a great help to title companies and lending institutions when setting escrow amounts for properties transferring before the end of the year,” Donofrio said. “This site will continue each year for special elections in February and August, along with any pending levies appearing on the Primary or General Election ballot.”
GREATER AKRON — Thomas Sawyer, a candidate for District 7 of the State Board of Education, has established a campaign Web site at www.votetomsawyer.com. He faces John Jones, David Kovacs and incumbent Deborah Owens Fink for the position.
