Smicklas, Hammer are wed
Gail
Marie Claire Smicklas and Russell Reid Hammer were united
in marriage Oct. 14, 2006, in a noon ceremony at St.
Bernard Catholic Church in downtown Akron.
The bride is the daughter of Margaret and Thomas Smicklas, of Wadsworth, and the groom is the son of Kenny and Jo Hammer, of Frazee, Minn.
The maid of honor was Megan Smicklas, sister of the bride. The matron of honor was Kim Jenkins Frazee, friend of the bride. The best man was the groom’s brother, Capt. Dustin Hammer.
The bridesmaids were Sarah LaRose, Jennifer Lampe, Olivia Urdiales and Shannon Weitzel. Groomsmen included Lt. David Franklin, Lt. Dennis Ragsdale and Lt. Jeffrey Raymond, all currently serving in the U.S. Air Force (USAF).
The bride is a 2000 graduate of Copley High School and a 2003 graduate of Kent State University. She is a lieutenant in the USAF, stationed in Eglin Air Force Base (AFB) in Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.
The groom is a graduate of Embry-Riddle University in Arizona. He also is a lieutenant in the USAF, stationed in Robbins AFB in Georgia.
The couple honeymooned in Beliz and will soon move to Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton.
Stephanie Buschko and Brian Shoman were married Sept. 23, 2006, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Cuyahoga Falls. The Rev. Thomas McCann and Deacon Raymond DiMascio officiated the ceremony.
The maid of honor was Kelly Buschko, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Sara Fusco, Ashley Freiman, Mary Kay McKoski, Christina Ross and Colleen O’Shea, all friends of the bride, and Stephanie Lewis, future sister-in-law of the bride.
The best man was Daniel Humphrey, friend of the groom. The groomsmen and ushers were Jon Labbe, Roland Gabriel Jr., Rich Thomas, Frank Ross and Greg Llewellyn, all friends of the groom, and David Buschko, brother of the bride.
The flower girl was Cadence Busch-ko, cousin of the bride, and the ring bearer was Zachary Sain, cousin of the groom.
Readers were Colleen Buck and Gina Muehlheim, friends of the bride, and Scott Brown, friend of the groom.
The trumpeter was Donavan Avery, friend of the couple.
The bride is the daughter of Catherine and Stephen Buschko, of Cuyahoga Falls. Stephanie earned a bachelor’s degree from The University of Akron in human resource management. She is employed at Towpath Tennis Center as the front desk manager.
The groom is the son of Lisa and Robert Shoman, of West Akron. Brian earned a bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University in sports management. He is employed at Towpath Tennis Center as a teaching tennis professional.
A reception took place at Todaro’s Party Center in Merriman Valley. The couple honeymooned on a Hawaiian cruise and reside in Akron.
Buschko, Shoman marry in fall ceremony
Stephanie
Marie Lewis and David Thomas Buschko were united in
marriage Dec. 2, 2006, in Erie, Pa., by the Rev. Scott
Katren.
Stephanie is the daughter of Charles and Kathleen Lewis, of Erie, Pa. David is the son of Stephen and Catherine Buschko, of Cuyahoga Falls.
The maid of honor was Carly Greiner. The bridesmaids were Stephanie Lewis, Kelly Buschko, Stephanie Shoman and Julia Wysocki.
The best man was Drew Dinan. The groomsmen were Jonathon Farmerie, Mark Lewis, Chase Lewis and Brian Shoman.
The ushers were J.T. Clark, Paul Bernhart, Jeff Lehner and Dave Wise. The greeters were Beth Shaffer and Lauren Zajac. The flower girl was Cadence Buschko. The readers were Becky Camillus, Jessica Knoll and Hilary Poan. The Eucharist ministers were Kara Conway, Ellen McCarthy and Celeste McElhinney.
The bride has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Notre Dame University and a master’s degree in accounting from The Ohio State University (OSU). She is employed as a certified public accountant at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
The groom is a 1998 graduate of St. Vincent-St. Mary High School. He has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s in accounting from OSU. He also is a certified public accountant at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
The reception took place at Bel-Aire Clarion Hotel and Conference Center in Erie, Pa.
The couple honeymooned in Hawaii and reside in Columbus.
Fick, Lewis wed in Germany
Adam
Fick and Iris Lewis were married Dec. 31, 2006, in Pettstadt,
Germany.
Adam is the son of Pat and Cynthia Fick, of Copley, and Iris is the daughter of Peter and Hanne Tchiggfrey, of Pettstadt, Germany.
Adam is a 1996 graduate of Copley High School and a graduate of The University of Akron ROTC program. He served a year in Iraq, where he was promoted to the rank of captain.
Upon his return to Germany from Iraq, Adam attained a job with the U.S. government as a civilian employee working with the U.S. Army in Bamberg, Germany. On Dec. 15, Adam received notice that his inactive reserve status had been changed to active reserve and he was to report to Ft. Benning, Ga., Jan. 14, to again serve with Operation Iraqi Freedom.
The couple had planned a fall 2007 wedding but moved up the date due to Adam’s deployment.
Iris and daughter Brittney will
spend the time Adam is away to plan a church wedding
and a reception and homecoming party for when he returns
from the Middle East.
Miller, Behrens wed
Stacey
Heather Miller and Todd Edward Behrens were married
Oct. 21, 2006, at the Cleveland Marriott at Key Center.
The bride’s parents are Joel and Arlene Miller, of Bath. The groom’s parents are Richard and Dee Behrens, of Pepper Pike.
The matron of honor was Alison Miller Linick, sister of the bride. The bridesmaids were Sidra Castor, Rachel Haffner, Laurie Tucker and Elisabeth Wooten.
The best man was Dennis Behrens, brother of the groom. The groomsmen were Steven Coven, Eric Eickhoff, Ken Golden and Ryan Rubin. Zoë Rolfe was the flower girl. Stacey is a graduate of Revere High School and has a bachelor of science degree from Indiana University and a master of education from Cleveland State University. She is a special education teacher in the Chagrin Falls School District.
Todd is a graduate of Orange High School and has a bachelor of science in electrical engineering and biomedical engineering from Duke University. He also has his juris doctorate from Case Western Reserve University School of Law. He is employed as an intellectual property attorney at Amin, Turocy & Calvin, LLP.
The reception took place at the Cleveland Marriott at Key Center. The couple honeymooned in Jamaica and reside in Solon.
Parker, Ingalls are engaged
Allison Parker, daughter of Janet and Rodney Parker, of Copley, and Brian Ingalls, son of Denise and Dave Heinl, of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Dave Ingalls and Mary Beth Kase, of Silver Lake, are engaged to be married in August 2007 at the Oaks Lodge in Akron.
Allison graduated from Copley High School in 2002 and Ohio University in 2006 with a degree in psychology. She is employed at Hospice of the Florida Suncoast as an HIV/AIDS Case Manager.
Brian graduated from Copley High School in 1999 and The University of Akron in 2004 and received his master’s in geology in 2006. He is employed at Groundwater Environmental Systems as a geologist.
