• DOWNTOWN AKRON — Frances Strickland, First Lady of Ohio, will speak at The University of Akron’s Women in Politics luncheon March 12 at 11:30 a.m. the Martin University Center, 105 Fir Hill. She will discuss her experiences in politics and share ideas on how to empower others to get involved. The cost is $6, and reservations are required by March 5 by calling (330) 972-5182. The luncheon is co-sponsored by the university’s Ray C. Bliss Institute of Applied Politics and Women Studies Coordinating Council in honor of Women’s History Month.
