GREEN — The 15th annual American Red Cross Golf Outing, presented by OMNOVA Solutions Foundation, in cooperation with the American Red Cross, Summit County Chapter, will take place June 1 at Mayfair Golf Course, 2229 Raber Road. The format includes a four-man start, a ladies scramble and a shotgun start (limited to 144 players). The cost is $100 per person or $400 for a foursome. The price includes a full-course breakfast (served from 6:30 to 8 a.m.), 18 holes of golf and a cart, lunch at the turn, beverages and a reception with food, gifts and prizes after play is complete. GREEN — On June 11, The University of Akron Football Summer Jamboree Golf Tournament will take place at Ohio Prestwick Country Club. The fee is $125 per person for the four-player Captain’s Choice format. Registration will begin at 11 a.m. Hole sponsorships are available. DOYLESTOWN — The Akron Jaycee Foundation will host its 11th Annual Benefit Golf Outing and Silent Auction June 22 at Chippewa Golf Club on Shank Road. The four-person scramble will begin with registration at 8 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 9. The cost of $85 per golfer includes 18 holes of golf with a cart, a boxed lunch, beverages, prizes, contests and a steak dinner. Hole sponsorships are available for $100. All proceeds will benefit the foundation’s Outstanding Young Citizen scholarship program. SOUTH AKRON — The American Cancer Society (ACS) will host the 17th annual Zekan Memorial Golf Outing July 16 on Firestone Country Club’s North Course, 452 E. Warner Road. The donation for a hole sponsor is $3,000. Each hole sponsor is permitted to have four people play in this 18-hole scramble event. The team handicap is determined by the four individual combined handicaps. Tee times are 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Also, each hole sponsor is entitled to a golf cart, continental breakfast, lunch, dinner and prizes. The co-chairs are Dave Chapple, of WMS Group Inc. in Fairlawn, and Bill Willis, of Alliance Pension Solutions in Akron. The honoree is Bill Downing, of RH Downing and Associates in Akron. The Bill Zekan Humanitarian Award will be given to Milton Cooper, a dentist in Akron. This award is presented annually to an individual in the area for his or her outstanding contributions to the ACS, the community and other local nonprofit agencies.
