CLEVELAND — Journey Projects will present staged readings of “Unbeatable: A Musical Journey” June 9 at 7 p.m. and June 10 at 2 and 7 p.m. in the Westfield Insurance Studio Theatre (Idea Center at Cleveland Playhouse Square), 1375 Euclid Ave. “Unbeatable” is a new musical based on the true story of one Cleveland woman’s year-long battle with breast cancer. Tickets for the staged readings of “Unbeatable” are free but required and can be obtained at the Playhouse Square Ticket Office, 1519 Euclid Ave. Seating is limited.
CLEVELAND — Single tickets for Opera Cleveland’s debut season are on sale. The season includes “La Traviata,” by Guiseppe Verdi, June 15, 17, 20 and 23-24 at the Cleveland Play House; “The Turn of the Screw,” by Benjamin Britten, July 11, 13, 15, 18 and 21-22 at the Cleveland Play House; “A Little Night Music,” by Stephen Sondheim, Aug. 10-12 and 17-19 at the Cleveland Play House; and “Tosca,” by Giacomo Puccini Oct. 19, 21 and 27 at the State Theatre. All shows are 8 p.m., except Sunday performances, which will begin at 2 p.m. The 28 performances of five productions that were originally planned for the season have been consolidated into 23 performances. The consolidation of performances accommodates all of Opera Cleveland’s season subscribers and lowers the company’s production costs, according to Opera Cleveland officials. The summer picnic tradition will continue, beginning at 5:30 p.m. prior to each evening performance at the Cleveland Play House.
