DOWNTOWN AKRON — The University of Akron’s College of Business Administration (CBA) will host an informational session June 15 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in CBA Room 121 for those interested in graduate study in the summer or fall of 2007. FAIRLAWN — The St. Hilary School Mock Trial team recently received a superior rating at the State Mock Trial Showcase in Columbus May 11. The team advanced to the state competition after winning first place in the Summit County Middle School Mock Trial Competition held at the Summit County Courthouse in March. The team is comprised of students in the seventh and eighth grades at St. Hilary School. In addition, members of the team were awarded the following honors: Outstanding Plaintiff Attorney — Jenna Decker; Outstanding Defense Attorney — Cristina Dickos; and Outstanding Defense Witness — Kevin Geary. Other members of the team are seventh-graders John Coill, Ileana Horattas, Alex Pianalto, Matt Reinke and Katie Whalen, and eighth-graders Katie Bolas, Bryan Baumgardner, Lauren Eicher, Elizabeth Horning, Jaime Raglow and Max Straus. The team’s legal advisers are Judge Lynne Callahan, Magistrate Katarina Cook and attorney Geoff Eicher. St. Hilary teacher Christine Spinner serves as the team’s faculty adviser. MONTROSE — The Goddard School, 105 Springside Drive, has presented “Donating Dollars for Spina Bifida” every Friday since November 2005. Teachers are able to wear jeans by donating a dollar for spina bifida research. In addition, the school will introduce a World Cultures curriculum in September. Children will learn about history, geography, culture, language, art and symbols as they take six “voyages” to the inhabited continents of Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, South America and Oceania.
