• MUNROE FALLS — Metro Parks, Serving Summit County will host Music by the Lake July 6 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Munroe Falls Metro Park, 521 S. River Road. An evening of free lake swimming will be followed by a one-hour performance by the Metro Parks Ensemble at 6:30 p.m. Friends of Metro Parks will serve free cake and ice cream while supplies last. Guests are asked to bring a blanket or chair. The concert will be cancelled if it rains. If wet weather is forecast, call (330) 865-8060 after 4 p.m. for the concert’s status.
• SOUTH AKRON — Metro Parks, Serving Summit County will host Pops ’N More July 12 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Firestone Metro Park’s Coventry Oaks Area, 40 Axline Ave. Children’s activities will be followed by a one-hour performance by the Akron Pops Orchestra at 7:30 p.m. Friends of Metro Parks will serve free cake and ice cream while supplies last. Guests are asked to bring a blanket or chair. The concert will be cancelled if it rains. If wet weather is forecast, call (330) 865-8060 after 4 p.m. for the concert’s status.
• CUYAHOGA FALLS — Music at the Farmstead will present “Jack Schantz and All That Jazz” July 15 at 6:30 p.m. This is the second in the summer series of concerts at the Conrad Botzum Farmstead, located at 3486 Riverview Road. Jazz trumpeter Jack Schantz, head of jazz studies at The University of Akron and leader of the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra, will lead the sextet in a sampling of music spanning the history of jazz. Concert- goers are welcome to bring picnics to the grounds beginning at 5 p.m. Tickets are $18 and include a dessert reception to mingle with the musicians after the concert.
