Akron Silver Stars take third in Hoosier Classic

COLUMBUS, Ind. — The 65 and over age group Kaiser Permanente Akron Silver Stars AA softball team took home the third-place trophy at the Hoosier Softball Classic Tournament, which took place June 8-9 in Columbus, Ind.
The Silver Stars compiled a 4-3 record in the two-day event, with all three defeats coming at the hands of AAA teams the Chicago Classics and Indiana 65’s, who finished first and second in the event, respectively. The wins came against the Indiana 65’s (16-14); KFC Champagne, Ill., (15-14, 25-10); and the South Bend tournament champs Raymond James of Indianapolis (27-7).
