Camp Quality participants gear up for cool activity

NEW FRANKLIN — Youths attending Camp Quality at Craftsman Park off Rex Lake Drive took a refreshing dip into the pool on a hot day, July 10, and learned a little about scuba diving, courtesy of Atlantis Outfitters, located on Apache Drive in Uniontown.
The weeklong camp is designed for children that have or have had cancer and offers a variety of activities throughout the week.
“This is a way to give kids something they may never have been exposed to,” said Atlantis Outfitters
owner Jim Stanford, who donated staff and equipment for the scuba activity. “It was a fun, safe time.”
About 12 children practiced and then participated in the three-hour long activity, as shown below.

Shown at top, Woods and Nathan, another camper, practiced the underwater signal for “go up” before they dived under water.
The week culminated with Prom
Night held at Anthe’s Restaurant in Coventry Township.
