Garritanos celebrate golden anniversary
Ralph Garritano and Elizabeth Horvath were married July 27, 1957, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Cleveland by the late Rev. Thomas Koegel.
For the past 50 years they have lived in the Akron area, where they raised their seven children: Debbie (Cliff Combs), Sue (Rod White), Steve (Caroline), Janice (Tony DiAntonio), Mary (Michael DiPasquale), Judy (Mitch Ware) and Joe (Paula). They are also the proud grandparents of 15: Melissa, Scott, Bill, Dan, Becky, TJ, Dylan, Madeline, Marc, Angelia, John, Nick, Blake, Rachel and Grace.
They have been members of St. Vincent Parish for the past 45 years and avid walkers in the Metro Parks, Serving Summit County Fall Hiking Spree for the past 40 years.
Ralph served in the Korean War and has been a barber for more than 50 years. He still owns and operates the East Side Barbershop in Barberton.
Elizabeth (“Liz”) enjoys going to casinos and working in her flower gardens in her yard, as well as being a mother and grandma.
The Garritanos celebrated their
50th wedding anniversary with a Mass and family party.
