• Timothy McEldowney, CPA, has been named chief operating officer of Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs, LLP. McEldowney will have overall responsibility for the firm’s operational and financial affairs, including administrative and firm Timothy McEldowney
operations, financial and tax planning, risk management, financial reporting and budgeting. He will assist the firm in creating enterprise, practice group and department plans, and will work with the company president and board to enhance operations and staff at all levels.
• Betsy McIntyre has joined Schlabig & Associates Ltd. as a senior accountant in the firm’s Akron office. McIntyre, who has more than 15 years in the field of accounting, will provide a combination of accounting and tax services to clients. She also is starting her third term as secretary of the Rotary Clubs of Northwest Summit County.
• Brouse McDowell has hired Kerri Keller as an associate in the firm’s Akron office. Keller will focus her practice in the area of business and commercial litigation. She is admitted to the Ohio Bar Association, as well as to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.
• Dr. Deepak Edward has been named as the new chair and residency program director of the Summa Health System Hospital’s Department of Ophthalmology, effective Sept. 1. Edward will succeed Dr. Charles Peter, who is stepping down as department chair after having had the position for nine years. A board-certified ophthalmologist, Edward has experience in the field of academic ophthalmology in areas of administration, teaching and research.
• Hitchcock Fleming & Associates has promoted Milissa Shrake, of Akron, to associate creative director in the creative services department; Ted Paynter to account supervisor/team leader for the account services department; Rene McCann to senior art director/interactive in the Buzzwerks(tm) interactive division; and Mandy Davis to senior media buyer/planner in the media services department.
