DOWNTOWN AKRON — The Artists of Rubber City Gallery, 400 Crouse St., is showing Images and Objects, a new exhibition of works by Janet Snell and Don Parsisson, through Oct. 20. Snell’s paintings, drawings and linocut are a marriage of abstract and figurative styles with an interest in psychology of the human head and figure. Parsisson is presenting five figurative sculptures that pursue his interest in the sculptural mass of the human figure. He also is presenting a full-room installation that explores the effects the passage of time has on perception of truth. Gallery hours are Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays noon to 4 p.m. Call the gallery at (330) 762-8675 for additional hours or other information.
BATH — In the new Life Along the Railway ... A Gateway to the Larger World exhibit, the Bath Township Museum stage will be designed to resemble the Hawkins, or Ira, depot (near the railroad tracks at the intersection of Riverview and Ira roads). Bath will be featured as one of the communities served by the Valley Railway through its depots at Unionville (Everett), Hawkins (aka Ira) and Botzum (Bath and Riverview roads). The exhibit will interpret the importance of the Valley Railway for the growth of commerce and travel by the population of the smaller communities located within Bath. The museum is in need of office equipment that resembles 1920s to 1930s vintage. The railway exhibit will open Sept. 16 and conclude Feb. 27. A preview event for members only will precede regular museum hours Sept. 16.
