• DOWNTOWN AKRON — The Scottish American Society will meet Oct. 14 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Akron-Summit County Main Branch Library, 60 S. High St. This meeting will center around the showing of the movie “Whisky Galore,” a humorous tale of the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. Frances Acar, who lived in that area, will present the film. • BATH — The Bath
Good Time Club will
meet Oct. 16 at noon at Ghent Christian Church. Bob
Huebeck, who completed a 100-mile bike ride in the Northwest
to highlight the need for Leukemia Society support,
will speak. Members may bring a covered dish, and guests
are always welcome.
