What makes you the best candidate
for the position?
“By reason of my experience
on City Council and my commitment to the community,
I am the best candidate for City Council at large.
“I have a proven track
record in dealing with a wide variety of constituent
concerns ranging from flooded basements to housing code
complaints.
“As City Council’s
representative to the Planning
Commission and chairwoman of the Planning and Zoning
Committee, I have experience with both development and
zoning issues. Development, whether it is industrial,
commercial or residential, is necessary to foster economic
growth in the community.
“I have focused my efforts
to maintain a balance between orderly development and
preserving the residential character of Cuyahoga Falls.
We can do more with our
share of federal money through community development
block grant funds to upgrade our residential housing.
“In addition, I am committed
to fiscal responsibility
in local government. A system of checks and balances
between the mayor’s office and City Council is
necessary to control spending.
“Our residents expect the
great services we provide such as snow plowing,
municipal electric, water and sanitation
at the lowest rates possible. I pledge to ‘watchdog’
our spending priorities as I have for 18 years on Council.”
Editor’s note: Mary
Myers, a Republican candidate
for Cuyahoga Falls City Council at-large representative,
did not submit information to be included in the West
Side Leader’s Voter Guide.
