What makes you the best candidate for the position?
“I have lived in Peninsula for 33 years, am the proud parent of two Woodridge graduates, a member of the Peninsula United Methodist Church, the Garden Club, and the Board of Zoning Appeals. I have 34 years in the business world, in finance (former Director of Finance for an international engineering firm, 12 years), business development (advocating for and advancing, manufacturing in Northeast Ohio, 20-plus years), and corporate management (former
Director of Corporate Affairs
for international engineering
firm, six years).
“This Village is my home. I want nothing more than for future families to raise their children in the same small town atmosphere that my family was blessed to experience. We must insist on: Small Town: small town values and historic preservation; Sound Management: fiscal responsibility and creative economic development; and Straight Leadership: open, honest dialogue that ensures the community is heard.
“I am the best candidate for Village Council because I am a new voice. When I am at the table, residents will have a voice for small town values and historic preservation, a collaborative and experienced voice to work towards fiscal responsibility, a voice to encourage economic development, a voice that supports conservation residential development, and always, a voice for environmental stewardship.”

What makes you the best candidate
for the position?
“We are now at a crossroads
in the Village. There are hard decisions to be made,
team work to be implemented and challenges to face for
the future of our Village.
I believe I can do all three. My entire career has been
spent working in healthcare; currently coordinating
a multi-site department for the largest employer in
Summit County. I also serve as partner in my husband’s
business of 29 years. Over the years I have been deeply
involved in the community serving as a member of: University
of Akron, Nursing Alumni
Board; Boston Township Hall Committee; Girl Scouts of
America; Peninsula Board of Zoning Appeals and Peninsula
Watershed Coalition. In May 2008, I will graduate from
the University of Akron with a Master’s degree
in Nursing Administration. I have no axe to grind or
private agenda to support. I believe in open government
and public involvement.
I know the importance of fiscal responsibility and understand
the uniqueness of this Valley that we choose to call
home. We need to work as a team, as a business,
as a community. I feel my business experience, community
involvement and education make me well suited for a
position on Council.”
