What makes you the best candidate for the position?
“We are fortunate to have a choice of 4 very good candidates, each with our unique strengths and personalities. I believe my personal strengths include a diplomatic and teamwork approach to issues, creative problem solving, computer and analytical skills and being open-minded with sensitivity to citizen concerns.
“I am a seasoned elected
official with vast experience in all aspects of our
local government. I have an excellent grasp of our finances
having chaired and served on the finance committee
for many years. I am a ‘numbers’ and information
person with degrees in math
and statistics with a 32-year career in computer systems
and database administration. It is crucial that our
public tax dollars are spent wisely so we need to continue
leveraging our tax money by actively seeking grants,
growing our corporate tax base and using long range
financial planning to accomplish our goals. Several
long-term projects need to be followed through to fruition,
recreational complex, streetscape for downtown, beautification,
sidewalk installation, ball field construction and historic
preservation.
“If re-elected, I will continue to steadfastly work on the issues that lie ahead of us, planning for our future to make Richfield an even better community.”

What makes you the best candidate for the position?
“I have enjoyed living in this community for 20 plus years, first while growing up here and now raising my two daughters. I have a deep respect for Richfield from relatives that had lived here longer than most could remember. I have the enthusiasm, commitment, and work ethic to take on the task of representing the residents to the best of my ability.
“Richfield is at or is
coming close to a turning point as a community. With
an array of topics to address, like the possible merger
with the Township, the comprehensive land use plan being
implemented, large parcels
of land with the potential for development,
and the Villages infrastructure challenges, we need
people to represent our community’s best interest.
I am ready to work with our Mayor, Council, Administrators
and Employees to help in preserving the past, protecting
the present, and preparing for our future, wisely, honestly
& with trust.
“Lastly I believe that I bring to the table, the professional relationships, personal friendships and experiences I acquired during my tenure on the Revere School Board and Cuyahoga Valley Career Center Board. This will only aid in my position on council if elected to represent you on Nov. 6.”

“Along with my wife Polly, I have raised four great children. The three boys are all Eagle Scouts. Our daughter is in the Revere marching band. We have lived in Richfield for over twenty-one years. After graduating from Fresno State University, I became a real estate broker for nine years. This gives me knowledge and experience with zoning, infrastructure, and land use issues.
“For the last 16-plus years I have run a successful business. During that time I have been challenged by the overall market, employees, clients, family and friends and almost always found solutions to the opportunities. “One of my strongest attributes
is the ability to solve complex problems in business,
civic and personal situations. I am analytical, creative,
energetic, thoughtful, caring, and fair. I am a good
listener. My education in both business and a physical
science give me a great background and unique experience.
Leadership positions in my church, the Boy Scouts, Kiwanis,
my business, and other organizations have prepared me
for this opportunity to serve and guide the Village
of Richfield.”
