What makes you the best candidate for the position?
“I believe my professional
experience working in the community combined with my
service on the board will allow me to continue to lead
the district to continued success. As a parent of a
small child, I feel education is
the most important function of a society. I would like
to focus on our most at-risk
population — our middle school students. We can
see a lot of improvement
by ensuring all community resources are open and reach
families in need.”

Summit County Master Gardener (1999-present)

What makes you the best candidate for the position?
“This is an interesting race because there are three of us running for three spots on the board. We are not running against each other, but rather with each other. I’ve worked closely with board members on many issues, including the last successful levy campaign. And I look forward to serving the students and citizens of Akron as a board member myself.
“I think I will bring a bit of a different perspective to the board as a former teacher and a current parent. I hope to be the parent voice on the board and welcome input from the community to achieve that goal.
“I also want to continue
working on the problems of underfunded public schools.
I plan to continue speaking on the issue and to visit
Columbus as a Board member to continue the fight for
fair funding for our school system and children.”
