What makes you the best candidate for the position?
“I have been
a no-nonsense, ‘get things accomplished’
advocate for the people of Richfield Township for almost
eight years. I have a comprehensive understanding of
township government and its abilities, authority and
limitations under Ohio law.
“My consistent participation in Richfield’s local government over the last 11 years began with attending meetings to gain better insight into the township form of government, then volunteered as an advisory Zoning Commission member, and organizing a resident opposition group to prevent an asphalt and concrete plant from locating in Richfield.
“I am aware that not everyone
will be happy with everything all the time, despite
our best efforts, however, I am certain that I have
always given every issue and concern thorough due diligence
and have gone the extra mile many times. It’s
always been my view that public officials are responsible
for not only responding to the issues at hand, but are
also there to encourage a more informed and educated
public about how and why we make decisions, and the
processes we go through to get there. I am very proud
of Richfield in so many ways, and I have worked hard
on behalf of our residents in operating an effective
and efficient local government in order to maintain
and protect the peaceful, bedroom
community we wish to retain.”

I will work collaboratively with residents and leaders to preserve our rural heritage, while managing development.
“I know how to ask the right questions, analyze data, seek consensus and make good decisions. My Human Resource skills help me relate well to workers, managers and labor unions alike. As a trained facilitator, I constructively resolve conflict.
“With my broad leadership experience, I bring a fresh perspective and new ideas. I contribute a network of favorable relationships with diverse individuals and numerous organizations. Serving as an appointed official for a City, I know about operating in a transparent, honest and fair manner. I have expertise establishing policies, revising out-of-date ones and following good processes. My business background helps me be accountable to taxpayers.
