BATH — The Korean-American
praise and worship ministry Doulos will
be at Ghent Christian Church, 4200 Granger Road, for
two evenings of Korean-language revival services Nov.
2-3 at 7:30 p.m. Each night will end with a fellowship
meal of Korean foods. Doulos will be joined by the Northeast
Ohio Korean praise team.

Sharon Center United
Methodist Church,
6407 Ridge Road, will host an election day luncheon
Nov. 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Homemade cream chicken
over biscuits, barbecue beef sandwiches, pie and beverage

“Come and See” meeting
Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. in St. Martha Parish’s McKeever
Hall, 300 E. Tallmadge Ave. Her topic will be “Getting
Through the Holidays After a Loss.” Following
Beers’ presentation, small discussion groups will

Sisters of St. Dominic and the Akron Associates will
host an evening of contemplative prayer in the style
of Taizé prayer Nov.
8 at 7 p.m. in the Our Lady of the Elms Motherhouse
Chapel, 1230 W. Market St. The prayer consists of music,
Scripture readings and reflection, and is an experience
of quiet sitting and repetitive musical reflective phrases,

WEST AKRON — Joanne
Doades will present “Parenting
Jewish Teens in the Age of MySpace” Nov.
9 at 7: 30 p.m. and Nov. 11 at 10:30 a.m. at Temple
Israel, 133 Merriman Road. For parents and students
in grades six through eight, discussion topics will
include: how a Jewish teen’s life is different
from a parent’s life as a teen; causes of conflicts
and how to move through them; and navigating through
differences in Jewish beliefs. Doades is director of
curriculum development for the Union for Reform Judaism
Department of Lifelong Jewish Learning and is an award-winning
Jewish educator and speaker, according to organizers.
WEST AKRON — Bishop
Joey Johnson and the 3rd Day Ministry of the House
of the Lord, 1650 Diagonal
Road, invite the public to the church’s annual
Veterans’ Day services Nov. 11. At 8: 45 and 11:30
a.m., special observances will honor past and present
members of the U.S. Armed Forces. A special reception
will take place between the services for veterans, active
military personnel and their families and friends. For
