Coalition presents check to Akron Children’s
Hospital
DOWNTOWN AKRON — The Ohio Fire Safety Coalition (OFSC) presented $35,000 to Akron Children’s Hospital Oct. 9 as part of Fire Safety Week 2007.
Funds were raised during the third annual Ohio Fire Safety Coalition Burn Invitational golf tournament at Glenmoor Country Club in Canton. During the past three years, the coalition has collected $95,000 for the hospital.
Proceeds benefit the Akron Children’s
Hospital Burn Center and will specifically support education,
prevention and research initiatives, as well as patient
support programs and the Aluminum Cans for Burned Children
(ACBC) Burn Camp. A portion of the funds also will benefit
research at the Akron Children’s Hospital Cancer
Center.
