Residents can apply to join the Sharon Township Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) or the Zoning Commission. The township trustees made the announcement at the Oct. 23 meeting.
One spot will be open next year on each board. Christine Kurth is leaving the BZA, while Ann Kerkian is leaving the Zoning Commission.
“We don’t want to wait until Jan. 1,” said Trustee Raymond Lurtz. “We would like to have someone in place by the first meetings of the year.”
Also, the trustees named Anita Haas to the park board, bringing it back up to five members.
Also, Trustee James Dudek reported the Medina County Prosecutor’s Office is researching the question of whether a flashing billboard represents a different land use than a conventional billboard. The billboard in question is located on Medina Road.
