DOWNTOWN AKRON — A Charles Dickens theme will be showcased throughout Hower House this holiday season. More than 40 volunteers will decorate Hower House Nov. 3, and visitors will be treated to wassail and cookies in The Cellar Door Store. New this year, “A Dickens of an Evening” will be offered Nov. 9-10 and 16-17. The evening will begin with “Spirits & Ale” at 6 p.m., with a Dickens-themed dinner beginning at 7 p.m. Between dinner courses, theater students from The University of Akron will perform vignettes from “A Christmas Carol.” Tickets are $100 per person.
