CUYAHOGA FALLS — The Cuyahoga Falls Mother of Twins Club will meet today, Nov. 1, at 7 p.m. at Grandview United Methodist Church, 2315 Phelps Ave. This month club members will host their first Holiday Market. DOWNTOWN AKRON — The Akron & Summit County Federation of Women’s Clubs will meet Nov. 7 at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Akron, 263 E. Mill St. The 23-member Matinee Singers will perform under the direction of James Mally. To make luncheon reservations, which cost $8, call Norma Beck at (330) 633-6836. Meetings are open to the public. Purchasing one individual ticket for $5 entitles the ticket holder to attend programs from September to May.
DOWNTOWN AKRON — The Downtown Kiwanis Club will present the following luncheons at Greystone Hall. The events will begin at noon and cost $10 each: √ Nov. 8: Summit County Sheriff Drew Alexander will speak on “Current Trends in Criminal Justice and Jail Management”; and
√ Nov. 29: Stephen Brooks, associate director of the Ray C. Bliss Institute of Applied Politics and associate professor of political science at The University of Akron, will speak on “Political Winds of Change — Looking to 2008.”
