What makes you the best candidate for the position?
“During the next four years
the Village of Lakemore will need a person that has
the experience and dedication that I have shown to our
great community. There are very important issues that
face our Village now and in the near future. All these
issues will need the qualifications and knowledge
that I offer as a respected communicator and manager.
Some of these important
issues are the continuation
of the Canton Road Corridor Improvements Project, the
revitalization of Edwin Shaw Hospital property and its
use, the continuation of designating the Village of
Lakemore as the area for the Springfield/Lakemore Library,
Economic Development on Canton Road, Tri-County Plaza
and the Village of Lakemore’s industrial site,
the revitalization of residential homes
in the Village of Lakemore through Summit County Development,
Infrastructure repairs through CDBG and Issue II funds,
storm water management and the appointments of a new
Village of Lakemore Administrator and a Lakemore Fire
Chief. As you can see, these items are very important
and I believe that with the valued cooperation and relationship
that I have been able to build with Summit County, Springfield
Township, Springfield School District and the City of
Akron, we can make the Village of Lakemore a shining
star community in Summit County, Ohio.”
Mike Kolomichuk

Kolomichuk (I), 57, is married. He is a write-in candidate.
Education
Attended The Ohio State University
Experience
Currently, president, American Winds Flight Academy (six years)

What makes you the best candidate for the position?
“Integrity may be defined as what you do when no one is looking. During the past administration this statement has come true. The residents of Lakemore Village have trusted their mayor. The result has been sloppy, inaccurate and deceptive practices in village hall.
“We need a mayor who is up to the task and understands how to run an organization the size of Lakemore.
“I have the background of running a successful small business. Founded in 2001, American Winds is a flight school run out of the Akron Fulton Airport. Since its inception it has won awards for its excellent management. In 2006 it won the Greater Akron Chamber Award for New and Emerging Business of the Year, The Council of Small Enterprises Ten Under Ten award, and one of three Nationally Accredited Flight Schools in America.
“I know how to handle a staff, balance a budget and provide quality services to my customers. I plan to do the same for Lakemore.”
Editor’s note: Republican Eleanor Morgan, a candidate for Lakemore Village mayor, did not submit information to be included in the South Side News Leader’s Voter Guide.
