What makes you the best candidate for the position?
“After reviewing the major
responsibilities of the mayor position, I came to
the conclusion that I am uniquely
qualified to lead our city forward. I have identified
what I believe to be the key responsibility
of the mayor. The mayor is the chief executive officer
of the city, meaning the mayor ensures the financial
success of the city. The forecasted annual budget for
Green is estimated to be $30 million. Because of the
scope of the financial risks, the selection of the next
mayor is critical to the current and future status of
our city. I have a long successful history of leadership
positions. I am a retired bank executive with significant
experience in financial management, strategic planning,
preparing annual budgets and being held accountable
for successful implementation of goals and objectives.
In addition, I have served on many community boards
requiring great skills in the art of collaboration,
fundraising, and community relations. I continue to
serve on five community boards. Considering
the role of the mayor against the backdrop of my work
and volunteer experience, I believe I bring the kind
of leadership Green needs to lead our city forward.”

What makes you the best candidate for the position?
“I am a lifelong resident
of this community, and am
running for Mayor based on my eight years of experience
and leadership as your Councilman-At-Large, my clearly-demonstrated
dedication to the community, and my vision for our city’s
future.
“I have also shown a level of community involvement and dedication to the City that is second to none. I know and love this community, and am a proud homeowner here. I will work tirelessly to make it the best it can be.
“Finally, I have presented a positive and well-defined vision for Green’s future — there is no need to guess about a Padrutt Administration. I will make planning the top priority it must be in order to control growth; I will concentrate growth in a walkable downtown area; I will create a citywide system of sidewalks, trails, and bike lanes; I will move forward immediately with a municipal swimming pool; I will oversee the construction of a third fire station; I will bring additional affordable housing for Green’s seniors; and I will NOT raise property taxes to fund city services.”
