Company Vice President Scott Stutler stated the 59-year-old business, located at 3397 E. Waterloo Road, was started by his father, Don Stutler, who is president of the company, and uncle, Paul Stutler, who is now deceased.
“Stutler was a dealer for Diamond Rio trucks,” said Scott Stutler. “They found many customers looking for payment plans and they coined the phrase ‘leasing.’ That is how it all started.”
Stutler leases various kinds of trucks for long- and short-terms and offers fleet maintenance care for other businesses.
Equipment available for long-term leasing includes tractors, trailers and straight trucks for a six- to seven-year lease period.
Short-term rentals of tandem day cabs, single axles, 20- to 24-foot vans with a lift gate and non-CDL units, all with air conditioning, may be arranged for a day, a week or a month.
“Stutler Leasing offers set transportation costs for six to seven years, unlike many other leasing companies,” said Scott Stutler. “That offers peace of mind, knowing that the rate cannot go up. For those that need a fleet, this is really important.”
Stutler Leasing handles 100 percent of the maintenance costs on all its leased vehicles, including tire repair and replacements, as well as tow truck service. Replacement equipment is available at no charge if required while a leased vehicle undergoes service, he said.
In addition to leasing, Stutler Leasing offers fleet maintenance service for outside small companies. That service ranges from a 10-point preventive maintenance program and oil and filter changes to major work on engines, transmissions, rear ends, clutches and trailers, as well as bodywork. Low lease rates are offered while a vehicle is being repaired.
“We are geared to small businesses and give our undivided attention to them,” said Scott Stutler.
He added the economy is forcing people to keep their vehicles longer, and in order to make them last, trucks need to be maintained properly.
“We have mechanics with 20 years experience and one with 40 years, and our maintenance program is second to none,” he said. “We oversee each piece of equipment carefully with a strict program. In addition, our labor rate is priced from the 1980s era.”
Scott Stutler said his business’ aim is to help other businesses grow.
“We use using our technology and experience to keep our client’s costs down, and that helps them grow, which also helps us,” he said.
