Flesher Sand and Gravel has been serving residential and commercial customers for 75 years. Pickup trucks, dump trucks and semi trucks are welcome to come in and pick up product, and the business has a loader to fill large orders quickly, as shown above.

The business, located at 3322 Clark Mill Road, is a supply yard with a variety of soils, sand and gravel available in small purchases or in bulk to residential and commercial customers.

The family business is owned and operated by fourth-generation family members Jim and Susie Fisher.

Susie Fisher said products available at the business include: two grades of topsoil, including a screened topsoil and an economy blend; fill dirt for residential and commercial use, all of which have been mixed with clay and can be packed; a premium bark mulch; both mason and concrete sand; a “baseball mix” that is used on infields in ball fields; river rock gravel; white limestone; landscape boulders of various sizes; and asphalt grindings that serve as an economical base for driveways.

“We sell anything from several buckets full to dump trucks full,” said Fisher. “We offer a great deal, and our prices are more economical than buying bags of products.”

Fisher said the products at the business are used by both do-it-yourself homeowners and by contractors. Both kinds of customers can come in and pick up products without a preorder. She added that Flesher Sand and Gravel does not offer delivery.

She said customers come in with their own containers and sometimes load a product directly into the trunk of a vehicle. Pickup trucks, dump trucks and semi trucks also are welcome, and the business has a loader to fill large orders quickly.

Fisher added she also can supply customers with a list of services the business has worked with that will pick up any product at Flesher Sand and Gravel and deliver it to a customer.

She also said knowledgeable staff can assist customers needing help in selecting the right product and amounts for their project. All products are on view in the yard, and customers can see any product upon request. Most of the products are sold by weight, according to Fisher.

Most credit cards are accepted.

Flesher Sand and Gravel is open year-round. Currently, business hours are Mondays through Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon.
