Cuyahoga Falls chamber selects Business Award recipients

According to chamber officials, the award winners include: Anup and Anju Gupta, of AG PrintPromo Solutions, as the Business of the Year; Debbie and Larry Walters, of Motortech Auto Center, as Business Persons of the Year; and Yvonne and Richard Sebastian, of Cuyahoga Falls, as Citizens of the Year.
According to chamber officials, in searching for award winners, the chamber accepted nominations from its members and community residents until April 27. All chamber members were eligible to be nominated and receive the Business Person of the Year Award and the Business of the Year Award. All residents of Cuyahoga Falls were eligible to be nominated and receive the Citizen of the Year Award.
Chamber officials added the Awards Selection Committee included: chair Carol Morgan, of North Akron Savings Bank; John Friend, of The Fedeli Group; Jeff Iula, Cuyahoga Falls City Council at-large member; Keith Viers, of Ohio Savings Bank; and Laura Petrella, of the Chamber of Commerce.
The winners were selected based on their personal and business achievements as well as their volunteer work and efforts in the community and for the chamber, according to chamber officials. They were recognized at the chamber luncheon meeting May 23 at the Sheraton Suites.
Chamber officials provided the following information on the winners.
• AG PrintPromo Solutions, a marketing and print company, has been in business since 1996 and moved to Cuyahoga Falls in 2000. In 2010, the business moved due to a need for more space to occupy one-third of a 10,000-square-foot building at 960 Graham Road.
Company products include: promotional items such as business gifts, logo merchandise, award programs, trade show handouts and employee incentives; corporate apparel such as screen-printed and embroidered golf shirts, caps, T-shirts and jackets; forms, labels, booklets, brochures and presentation products; and graphics and design services, online order management, fulfillment and mailing services.
AG PrintPromo Solutions was awarded the 2012 NEO Success Award by Inside Business magazine; the Supplier of the Month award by Summa Health System in March; the Top 100 Diverse Businesses in Ohio award six years in a row by diversitybusiness.com; the Preferred Print Partner award for the Cleveland Indians in February 2011; and the Most Valuable Diverse Business Partner award by the Cleveland Indians in 2008.
• Motortech Auto Center is located on Wyoga Lake Road and the Motortech Fleet Center is in Remington Road Industrial Park. The company’s new building design won the 2009 Business Enhancement award of the Cuyahoga Falls Community Awards.
Company owner Larry Walter is the past president of the Cuyahoga Falls Chamber of Commerce, the Cuyahoga Falls Rotary Club and the Cuyahoga Falls Executive Club. He is a CTM toastmaster from the Falls-Akron Club, has volunteered on the Cuyahoga Falls Planning Commission and is active in the Falls and Stow chambers of commerce, TEEM Leads Group and the CFCC Gold Mine Leads Group.
• Richard Sebastian has served on the Cuyahoga Falls Charter Review Committee and is in his third term serving on the Parks and Recreation Board, having served several times as chairman.
He is a supporter of the Cuyahoga Falls City School District, has served on school levy committees and has worked as a member of the teaching staff at the high school after retiring 11 years ago.
Yvonne Sebastian twice served on the Cuyahoga Falls Charter Review Committee. She has been involved in the PTA at Cuyahoga Falls City Schools, was a PTA president at Richardson Elementary School and also served in other positions on the PTA Council. She is a diabetic educator and was a member of the Diabetic Advisory committee at Summa Western Reserve Hospital in Cuyahoga Falls. She retired from the American Diabetes Association after 25 years of service.
