GRANGER — Snyder Tree Farm, located at 648 Medina Road, is an outdoor home improvement business owned by David Snyder.

Snyder said his grandparents first purchased the business’ property and used it for farming in the early 1900s, and his parents continued with that effort. Snyder added that about 11 years ago, he decided to refocus his efforts into tree farming and outdoor products.

“We are friendly, service-oriented and prepared to help our customers any way we can,” said Snyder. “If we don’t carry it, we will direct customers to where they can find what they are looking for.”

Snyder Tree Farm sells garden-related items mostly to residential customers. Those items include trees grown on its tree nursery. Snyder said large, healthy, readily balled trees are available for purchase for landscape use, and he also sells Christmas trees during the holiday season. The trees available from the nursery include a variety of pines.

In addition, Snyder Tree Farm offers a variety of landscape materials such as mulches, compost and topsoils and other items. Also available is mushroom compost and Sweet Peet, both of which are used like mulch but also break down to enhance the soil, according to Snyder.

Straw and hay and a wide variety of limestone and gravel also are sold at the store.

Snyder Tree Farm is also an authorized dealer of Amish-made Alpine Structures. Snyder said he has a wide selection of storage sheds that come in all shapes and sizes.

He also said he has premium hardwood firewood for sale. The selections include wood such as cherry, oak and ash.

“While our mulch is my biggest seller, I am known for my high-quality firewood,” said Snyder. “Our material is all high quality. If it is not good enough, I won’t sell it.”

A variety of sturdy cypress outdoor furniture also is sold at Snyder Tree Farm.

“This is unique wood that comes from the Louisiana Bayou,” said Snyer. “You don’t have to do anything to it and it lasts for generations.”

Snyder added he is now introducing a variety of locally grown, farm-fresh produce.

“I will be offering a full line of items, and all the produce will come from the immediate area, including fresh goat cheese,” he said.

Business hours at Snyder Tree Farm are Mondays through Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The business is closed on Sundays.
