Casey’s Dry Goods now open at Constantine’s
RICHFIELD — Kim DeWester returned home to Northeast Ohio after retirement and has now opened Casey’s Dry Goods store.
Located in Constantine’s Garden Center, Casey’s is a replica of an old general store, DeWester said.
“I have both old and new things,” she said.
DeWester is a Woodridge High School graduate. She lived and worked in Indiana for many years and over the years started going to estate sales and auctions throughout the eastern United States in search of unique collectibles.
Among the items she stocks at Casey’s are Akron pottery, trapper blankets, old quilts, advertising memorabilia and signs. She also finds new handcrafted items from local artisans to feature and also has a selection of Ohio-made food products and an old-fashioned candy counter, she added.
In addition, the store stocks vintage music collectibles and vintage sports memorabilia, DeWester said.
Casey’s Dry Goods is located within Constantine’s, 2518 Brecksville Road, and DeWester can be reached at 317-370-6109. The store is open Mondays through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Fat Bob Grill ready for business in Highland Square
HIGHLAND SQUARE — Melani and David Tate have relocated their pick-up and delivery restaurant to Akron, serving a variety of items all day every day.
The Fat Bob Grill is located at the rear of the American Legion Hall, 783 W. Market St. The menu features homemade soups, breakfasts, wraps, wings, burgers, chicken, vegetarian items and more, the Tates said. All menu items are available at all times of the day, they added. There also are daily platter specials.
The business was previously located in Parma, Melani Tate said, but the couple, who live in Akron, decided to relocate it to Highland Square when the space became available. It opened for business July 9.
Hours are Sundays from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to midnight. Currently, the restaurant offers counter service and delivery only, but there is the possibility of having some tables for diners in the future, Melani Tate said.
