MERRIMAN VALLEY — Valley Laundry Services, located at 1375 N. Portage Path, has been completely remodeled and now offers new conveniences and entertainment as well, according to Brenda Schwarz, who owns the facility along with several silent partners.

The Laundromat has been completely remodeled, and new conveniences and entertainment are available.

Schwarz said the 32-year-old, full-service facility, which she bought in March, has been recently completely redone.

“We gutted it completely from floor to ceiling and it is now spanking brand new,” she said. “It has doubled in size and it is clean. We also have new furniture and new machines.”

Schwarz said the facility now has more than 30 washers and dryers, many of them new, with more coming in. The laundry facility offers coin washers and dryers that come in various sizes and can do both heavy-duty loads and smaller loads.

Also added in the renovation were change machines that can dispense quarters for $1, $5 and $10 bills, and a credit card payment option will be added soon, according to Schwarz. In addition, the facility now has laundry detergent soap dispensers and new laundry carts.

Valley Laundry Services also offers wash and fold services to customers who do not have time to do their own laundry for a cost. Drop-offs of laundry to be done are accepted from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, and can be done in about half a day’s time. An attendant also is available.

Valley Laundry Services offers customers waiting on loads of laundry to be done plenty to do. The facility now has satellite TV, a sound system and free Wi-Fi.

“This place is the most upscale facility around,” said Schwarz. “It does not look like what most people picture a Laundromat to be. Many people living in the area don’t even know there is a convenient Laundromat located here. We are located next to the BP gas station and near the Noisy Oyster Pub.”

Schwarz said she hopes residents in the area will stop in to give the “new” facility a try.

Valley Laundry Services is open Mondays through Saturdays from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. The business can be reached at 330-835-1020.
