Patents for small businesses topic for 2012 inventors program
DOWNTOWN AKRON — Inventapalooza, the library’s celebration of all things inventive, returns with an emphasis on small business and fun for inventors, entrepreneurs and families Nov. 2-3 at the Akron-Summit County Main Library, 60 S. High St.
Inventapalooza offers local inventors and attendees of all ages a chance to meet other inventors, learn about trademarks from a U.S. Patent & Trademark Office attorney and attend programs. University students, entrepreneurs and downtown workers who aren’t able to get to the library on Saturday morning are invited to attend Friday’s talk and learn about the trademark process from an expert.
This year’s Inventapalooza will focus on trademarks. Craig Morris, managing attorney for trademarks for the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, will present “What Every Small Business Owner Should Know Now, Not Later” Friday at 3 p.m. and Saturday at 9:40 a.m.
“Inventapalooza’s focus is always on innovation and invention in Northeast Ohio, and Jeff St. Clair will feature some of the entrepreneurs and innovators he has interviewed for his ‘ExploRadio’ segment for radio station WKSU,” said organizer and librarian Monique Mason. “Inventapalooza will also feature a group of local inventors sharing their tips for bringing a product to market, as well as answering audience questions in our Inventors Roundtable.”
St. Clair’s presentation will be Saturday at 11:30 a.m.
For additional information on the program, contact the library’s Science & Technology Department at 330-643-9075 or via email at www.akronlibrary.org.
