COPLEY — The River City Gift Shoppe offers a variety of gift items for every occasion, according to owner Judy Gager.

River City Gift Shoppe carries many gift ideas, including fragrance lamps, shown at right top; handcrafted jewelry, such as the necklaces shown at right middle; scarves and scarf pins, such as those pictured at right bottom; and a variety of artwork, including this lighted painting, shown above.
The shop, located at 1265 S. Cleveland-Massillon Road in two separate buildings totaling 6,000 square feet, carries items created by more than 70 crafters, as well as ladies and children’s consignment items and Hershey’s ice cream.

“We have so many talented people making such wonderful things for us,” said Gager. “You can find something for anyone and for any occasion here.”

The handcrafted items include small furniture pieces, such as handmade benches, fragrance and decorative lamps; one-of-a-kind cards; painted canvases with flickering lights; unique jewelry and pet gifts, she said.

“We also have some great clothing items for women and an expanded children’s consignment room and the Miche Bag,” said Gager.

The bag comes in four different-sized bases whose outward appearance may be changed with a variety of different colored shells.

In addition, River City Gift Shoppe has an ice cream parlor serving ice cream in a variety of flavors, and recently added ice cream cakes that can be customized for any event. The ice cream shop also hosts children’s parties, which can include a craft activity, Gager said. Parents can bring a cake, and the shop will serve ice cream with it, she said.

River City also offers classes in stamp- and paper-crafting and knitting classes.

The stamp- and paper-crafting classes are led by Paper Blessings instructor Mary Leeson and offered on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month at 6:30 p.m. and the second and fourth Saturdays of each month at 10 a.m. Participants make items such as greeting cards and tags, mini-books and more.

The knitting classes offer instruction and guidance on a variety of projects on the first and third Thursdays of each month.

River City store hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. The hours for the holidays will expand to 7 p.m. on Thursdays and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
