Torchbearers name Class of 2013
GREATER AKRON — Torchbearers has chosen 39 future leaders for its Class of 2013 after attracting its largest applicant pool since forming in 2003, according to the organization’s officials.
Torchbearers is a young professional organization founded by Akron residents Scott Read and Jefferson Satterfield in 2003 and focused on building a better Greater Akron community through leadership development and service.
Members of the newest class will take part in a yearlong curriculum devoted to professional development, board leadership and community exposure, and shadow local nonprofit boards, participate in numerous volunteer opportunities and network with community leaders.
