FAIRLAWN — Savile Lane offers affordable tailored clothing for men who want a perfect fit and individual styling, according to owner Cynthia Chen.

The six-year-old business is located at 117 Ghent Road in Merchants Square. The clothing shop carries men’s designer sportswear and tailored clothing from designers such as Hugo Boss, John Varvatos, Citizens of Humanity, Joseph Abboud, Ballin, Diesel and Denim. The shop’s biggest sellers are its custom-made shirts, according to Chen.

“Our custom-made shirts are affordable and offer a perfect fit,” said Chen. “But custom-made shirts are about more than just the fit.”

Chen said customers who get tailored shirts not only get a perfect and comfortable fit, but they also are able to select their own fabric and colors from a large palette, as well as the type of collar and cuffs they prefer and details of the shirt, such as pockets, pleats and placket. They also can add monograms.

Chen stated Savile Lane has two tailors on staff to take measurements to make tailored shirts, and clients can meet with a stylist for assistance in selecting other details. A client will return for a final fitting about two weeks before the shirt is completed. These measurements and style preferences are kept on file for each customer, and friends and family members can purchase items using that information, she said.

“Few people can find a perfect fit right off the rack,” said Chen. “Sometimes the sleeves are too long or too short, and sometimes the neck does not fit right. We offer a quick turnaround, quality material and great service. Our custom-made shirts are as affordable as something bought off the rack, and they fit a lot better.”

Savile Lane tailors also can make trousers, sports jackets and suits for any client, and stylists are available to help a customer select the most complimentary cut and help select an outfit for a particular occasion.

Store hours are Mondays through Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Fridays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Savile Lane also is open Sundays from noon to 4 p.m. through Dec. 23.

A website for the business is under construction. For more information about the business, call 330-864-8642.
