SOUTH AKRON — The Bourbon Room is a new bar and grill located at 662 Canton Road.

Owner Tina Dalton, who has 10 years’ experience in food preparation, said she partnered with Rick Black, who has 20 years’ in entertainment experience and will serve as the general manager, to open the new establishment and offer entertainment and food.

“Together, we maximize our experience, and we decided to take advantage of a good location to open The Bourbon Room,” said Black.

The Bourbon Room features a variety of bourbons, as well as beer and liquor, but also homemade food, according to Dalton.

Dalton said she is Italian, loves to cook for people and has training in restaurant management. The Bourbon Room offers family meals during the day and bar food later in the evening, she said.

“Our atmosphere is nicer than a typical bar,” said Dalton. “We made this place comfortable for everyone in the family.”

Dalton added that “pricing will be extremely reasonable” at The Bourbon Room.

“All our food is made from scratch,” said Dalton. “Our kitchen is well-equipped, and we will offer homemade soups, sandwiches and meals using fresh organic meat, as well as homemade pies.”

Daily specials include chicken wings on Tuesdays, pasta with homemade Alfredo sauce and $3 Long Island iced teas on Wednesdays, $1 tacos and $3 margaritas on Thursdays, and fresh beer-battered fish and mushrooms on Fridays.

Dalton said The Bourbon Room also has catering service for a variety of events.

In addition to food, The Bourbon Room offers plenty of entertainment, according to Dalton.

Karaoke will be offered on Wednesdays and Fridays through the end of March, with prizes planned; live cover bands and dancing are planned for Saturdays, with music dating from the 1960s; and open mic nights will be offered on Thursdays.

Dalton said the interior of the bar has been remodeled, with all new equipment and six big-screen TVs added.

“All our staff is polite, courteous and wonderful with customers,” said Dalton. “We already have a lot of regulars who have begun hanging out here because they have fun.”

The Bourbon Room is open Tuesdays through Sundays from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 a.m. The bar is closed Mondays.
