Akron Appraisal combines with Valbridge Property Advisors
GREEN — Akron Appraisal Group Inc. announced it has combined with 41 other appraisal firms to form Valbridge Property Advisors, which provides independent valuation and advisory services to local, regional, multi-market and national clients.
Valbridge, based in Naples, Fla., has 59 office locations in the country and serves office, industrial, retail, apartments, multifamily and senior living, as well as lodging, hospitality, recreational and other special-purpose properties, according to company officials. Each of its offices is led by an appraiser who has the MAI designation of the Appraisal Institute, indicating he or she is experienced in the valuation and evaluation of commercial, industrial, residential and other types of properties, according to company officials.
Akron Appraisal was founded by Gary Barker, MAI, and Michael Flak, MAI, in 2001, according to company officials, with both having more than 20 years of commercial appraisal experience.
“Client demand for a strong, independent and national commercial property appraisal services firm has driven us to combine with dozens of the best and brightest appraisers across the country to launch Valbridge,” said Barker. “But we’re no less committed to being the No. 1 firm in our market known for high standards of accuracy, integrity and reporting. In fact, as Valbridge, we will, over time, provide expanded services and an even higher level of service to our local clients while also serving regional and national clients based outside the area.”
The new firm will be known as Valbridge Property Advisors/Akron Appraisal Group Inc. for a transition period. It is led by Barker and Flak, who are now senior managing directors of Valbridge, and the team includes Teresa Simone, an appraiser since 2010, according to company officials.
