Owner Eddie Puskarich said he provides fitness assistance to clients all over Summit and Stark counties either in their own homes or in a studio located at 3339 Miller Park Road, Suite A, in Green. He also works with companies to provide small group training during lunch and after work.
Puskarich said he is an instructor for the World Instructor Training School and is American College of Sports Medicine-certified and also has CPR and automated external defibrillator certification.
Total Fitness offers cardiovascular training, strength training and conditioning, body sculpting and toning, sports conditioning and weight loss management. Post-injury rehabilitation exercise also is available.
Puskarich said the difference between Total Fitness and a gym is the personal attention a client will get.
“The advantage of a personal trainer is that the trainer can make sure you are doing the exercises safely and most effectively,” he said. “A trainer also helps keep you motivated, and can help those who have not exercised much in the past and do not want to start in a gym. Personal training is not drive-through fitness. I help clients stay fit and have a healthy life, not just get fit.”
Puskarich said each new client begins with a fitness evaluation in five areas to establish a fitness profile, and after a consultation, goals are identified and a personal program is created. An eating assessment is also done and nutritional advice may be offered, he said.
“Exercise is great for maintaining weight loss, but also for health,” he said. “Eating appropriately helps achieve weight loss goals and can improve health.”
Puskarich said he structures programs specifically for each individual client and makes adjustments to alleviate boredom and based on results. Clients can work in the privacy of their own home or come to the studio, and he can also help clients find the right equipment for their own home if they want.
He also helps customers with exercise therapy to rehabilitate a particular injury after physical therapy has been completed.
The corporate training sessions offer combined strength and toning exercise classes and are less individualized, he said.
“My rates are affordable,” he said. “There are no contracts involved, but I do offer discounts for longer commitments. I also have reduced rates for seniors.”
