Fairlawn Toastmasters is a group of local professionals, college students and people who want to improve their communication skills.
The open house will take place June 18 at 7 p.m. at Fairlawn-Kiwanis Community Center, 3486 S. Smith Road. Guests can observe a special meeting, ask questions and collect information. There is no charge, and light refreshments will be served.
For more information about Toastmasters and the upcoming open house, call 330-961-1757 or email Fairlawn.Toastmasters@gmail.com.
“A Toastmasters meeting is a learn-by-doing workshop where participants hone their speaking and leadership skills in a safe, supportive environment,” said Secrist. “Members give impromptu talks on various topics, conduct meetings and develop skills related to humorous, persuasive, motivational and informative presentations.”
Meetings take place on the first, third and sometimes fifth Tuesdays of the month and last from one hour to 90 minutes.
