Portage Lakes IGA negotiating sale to Buehler’s Fresh Foods

GREEN — Portage Lakes IGA and Buehler’s Fresh Foods officials announced they have been working toward the sale of the IGA to Buehler’s, of Wooster.

“Our focus is on customers and the assurance that they continue to receive the same service and products they have come to expect at Portage Lakes IGA,” stated Bob Buehler, vice president of marketing and merchandising for the family-owned company.

Portage Lakes IGA owner Bill Anthony added: “Customers will see no changes in the store’s hours or offerings while the sale of our store to Buehler’s is being finalized.”

Dan Shanahan, chief operating officer for Buehler’s, said he expects the deal to successfully conclude with a closing at the end of July.

Following successful negotiations, a formal announcement is expected in August.

Buehler’s Fresh Foods is owned and operated by E&H Family Group, and has stores located in Jackson, Medina and Wadsworth, as well as Wooster, Orrville, Brunswick, Ashland, New Philadelphia, Dover, Delaware and Coshocton.

E&H Family Group also owns and operates ACE Hardware stores located in Jackson and Medina, as well as eight other locations and another opening this summer in Oberlin.

AKRON — Roger McClain, a professional musician for more than 20 years and owner of Rubber City Recording Studio at 68 W. Exchange St., has added an extension to his business, a new record label, PolymerCityRecords.com Label and Promotions.

PolymerCityRecords.com Label and Promotions promotes locally produced musical talent and musical compositions.

“The Akron area is teeming with talent and the ability to reach a much broader marketplace even on a national level,” McClain stated in a press release. “Recent advances in technology have made it increasingly possible to reach that wide level audience.”

On board is marketing director and agent Val Bailey, who has more than 20 years of promotional experience and also is a publicity stylist.

“When the sound is just right and marketable, then it is my job to make sure the product has a look and a ‘wow factor,’” she said.

McClain has performed locally and throughout Northeast Ohio. He has one debut single titled “Twin Flame” and a three-song EP album called Corporate Suite, all available on PolymerCityRecords.com, CD Baby and iTunes. McClain and Bailey are in the process of promoting a new single, “Revive,” by Akron artist MLII. In addition, Ingrid and Emmanuel have a debut single titled “U R the Reason,” which is in the process of distribution.
