BARBERTON — Leach’s Meats and Sweets has been providing dinner and dessert for area residents for 42 years.

Located at 256 31st St. S.W., the family business includes a butcher and bakery, offering a large selection of meats, as well as baked goods.

Owner Ray Leach said customers can order a variety of chicken, ham, pork, sausage and beef products, including items such as Hungarian garlic sausage, boneless stuffed chicken breast and pork steaks.

“We offer fresh meat at decent prices with good service,” said Leach. “We have a lot of homemade cold cuts and smoked sausages that are made onsite in our smoke house. We have a lot of unique items that no one else carries, such as our marinated chicken breast, homemade trail bologna and barbecue pork.”

Leach added that its whole stuffed chicken ready for baking is a customer favorite. In addition, orders for fresh turkey for Thanksgiving meals are now being accepted.

Leach’s also processes deer and other game meat for customers by appointment.

The bakery has cookies, doughnuts, dinner rolls, cupcakes and cakes, and staff can create custom wedding and birthday cakes and cakes for other special occasions in white, yellow, chocolate or marble, with buttercream, whipped cream or French cream icing, as well as a variety of fillings.

Thanksgiving and holiday treats also are available.

Leach’s also sells homemade heat-and-eat meals, such as stuffed chicken breast with red skin potatoes and corn. A different meal is offered every day, according to Leach.

Weekly specials include a wine of the week from the store’s selection.

Leach’s also caters business and special events, with an extensive menu that includes appetizers, entrées, soups and side dishes. Catering includes plates, cups and flatware, and serving is available on request.

“We have a full menu to choose from for weddings, graduation dinners, high school reunions and business functions,” said Leach.
