Buehler’s opens in Green
GREEN — Buehler’s Fresh Foods hosted a grand-opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony at its newest location, 4045 S. Main St., Oct. 30.
The store, which takes over the space of the former IGA, sports new paint and décor, a new entrance and expanded departments, including produce with local offerings, a deli with premium meats and cheeses, frozen food and dairy.
According to Buehler’s officials, beer and wine offerings have been expanded to include an assortment of more than 300 craft and branded beers and 600 wines.
Also available is Buehler’s “scratch” bakery along with its cream sticks and custom decorated cakes. The store also offers a wide assortment of chef-prepared foods, according to company officials.
The meat department features the Certified Angus Beef brand, Farmland all natural pork and local Gerber’s Poultry. Fresh seafood from Foley Fish is delivered directly from the Atlantic coast three times a week, according to company officials.
The grocery department has been redesigned for shopping ease and features Our Family brand products that offer a significant savings, according to Buehler’s officials.
Buehler’s offers double coupons and has lowered prices on 2,644 items customers buy most often, which are marked with red and yellow “Lower Prices” signage, officials added.
Other services include a filtered water machine, carpet shampoo rentals and propane exchanges. Also, postage stamps, greetings cards, lottery tickets, money orders and gift cards are available.
Activities for children will be offered Nov. 2-3 from noon to 4 p.m. with face painting, a caricature artist and costumed characters, including Certified Clyde from Certified Angus Beef, Frito Lay’s Chester Cheetah and Buehler’s mascot Spike the pineapple. A special produce sale will run today, Nov. 1, through Nov. 3.
Store hours are Mondays through Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

GDK joins with Brooker for new venture
GREEN — GDK & Co. has formed GDK Brooker LLC, a new entity representing a joint venture relationship with Brooker Insurance Agency.
The entity expands GDK and Brooker’s expertise and capabilities in the life insurance and property and casualty markets, respectively, and allows GDK to enhance its ability to address the unique financial planning needs of business owners, entrepreneurs and ultra-affluent individuals, according to GDK company officials.
According to company officials, GDK, located at 5771 Mayfair Road, was founded by Stanley Greenwald in 1975. In 1981, the firm joined M Financial Group, a premier financial services design and distribution company comprised of a network of independent firms focused on the affluent and corporate markets, according to company officials.
