The state-of-the-art facility, originally started for children of employees at InfoCision, which is located nearby, has a capacity for 98 children and is open not only to InfoCision employees, but also to the public.
The center, opened in 2009, has a welcoming and homey environment, according to InfoKids Director Jill Irish.
“We are more of a learning center than just a daycare,” said Irish. “The kids are not sitting around watching TV all day. We use creative curriculum, a play-based program that meets core standards of the Ohio Department of Education, in all age rooms. The curriculum offers individualized learning, as well as classroom learning programs.”
Irish said learning and development activities focus on social, emotional and physical well-being; motor and cognitive development; and general knowledge, which includes mathematics, science and social studies, and language and literacy development. Other activities include art, music, dance and yoga.
“We have exceptional teachers,” Irish added. “They are here because they love the children, and they really do work with the kids. This is their career.”
In addition to inside activities, children are taken outside twice a day to enjoy the secure playgrounds, one for children younger than 3 and one for those older, and grassy areas. There is also a garden that children can help plant to learn more about healthy eating.
The center serves healthy snacks and lunch, with an on-site chef preparing food daily, according to Irish.
“The chef also takes time to incorporate healthy eating information into the program to teach children good habits,” she added.
InfoKids has high security features that include monitoring every individual that comes into the building, according to Irish.
Among the other amenities at the facility are degreed lead teachers, rooms that are larger than required by the state and a rock-climbing wall for little ones.
Irish stated that InfoKids accepts Title 20 (state-funded child care) recipients.
The facility is open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
Those who register before January 2014 can save 25 percent off the first month’s payment, and those who take a tour of the facility will have a chance to win a $100 gift card, according to Irish.
