Green Chamber to present Impact Awards

GREEN — The Green Chamber of Commerce will present its 2013 Impact awards Nov. 12 at the Chenoweth Golf Course and Banquet Hall, 3087 Chenoweth Road.

According to chamber officials, the awards to be presented include the Vision Award, Community Award, Environment Award and IMPACT Award. In addition, there will be a Mayor’s Award.

The keynote address at the event, “Bringing a Whole New Ballgame,” will be presented by Ken Babby, CEO and owner of the Akron RubberDucks, formerly known as the Akron Aeros. Babby will talk about how he became owner of the newly named Akron RubberDucks and how this has allowed him to impact a community through charity, wellness and education initiatives while embracing a mission of creating a memorable, unique, affordable and enjoyable fan experience, according to chamber officials.

The chamber event, open to the public, will begin at 11:30 a.m. with networking and lunch. The awards and keynote program will begin at noon.
